ALLEZ YANNICK!!

2025 Acrylic on Canvas

$6,200

Allez Yannick!! is more than a cry from the stands, it is the sound of a French tennis legend coming back to life.

This impasto artwork celebrates Yannick Noah and the extraordinary energy he brought to Roland-Garros in 1983, when he became the first Frenchman in 37 years to lift the Coupe des Mousquetaires. Facing Mats Wilander in a packed Philippe-Chatrier, Noah transformed the court into a collective moment of emotion, pride, and pure electricity.

The heavy layers of color and texture are intended to echo that atmosphere: the intensity of the clay, the movement of his body, the roar of the crowd, and the almost physical force of thousands of voices pushing their champion forward.

“Allez Yannick!!” belongs to that moment, yet it never really ended. It remains part of the emotional language of Roland-Garros, a chant that evokes not only a player, but a memory shared across generations.

This piece is a tribute to Yannick Noah, to Roland-Garros, and to that unmistakable French voice from the stands: Allez Yannick!!
